I love word pictures in the Bible! Here is another one that inspired a page in my Journal. at Luke 12: 6,7 Jesus said: "Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them goes forgotten before God. But even the hairs of your head are numbered. Have no fear; You are worth more than many sparrows."
So these are my 5 sparrows supporting one another! It is a lovely word picture reminder of the loving care Jehovah has for each of us.

Today I Choose Joy!
Journal Page "Today I Choose Joy!" Fun with Paint, Faber Castell Gelatos, Pastels, Bubble Wrap, Stamps and of course, Paper! I drew the flower and leaves then colored them with Pastels. Cut them out and adhered with Good Ol' Mod Podge!
Around the leaves and stem I Stamped the "fruitage of the Spirit" from Galations 5: 22-23 "Love, Joy, Peace, Long Suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Mildness and Self Control. And for good measure, I've added Gratitude.

Canvas 9 x 12 of an earlier Art Journal Project
Lady reading the Bible under a 'well watered' tree. Inspiration Scripture: Psalm 1:2,3 "His delight is in the law of Jehovah, and in his law he reads in an undertone day and night. And he will certainly become like a tree planted by streams of water, that gives its own fruit in its season and the foliage of which does not wither, and everything he does will succeed."
My First Good Face!
Following Claudia Rossi's Tutorial, linked below, I drew this girl. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils. Yes you can do it too! I plan to use her in a future MM project.

My First Attempt
So, after many revisions (typical for me :)) this was my first mixed media. Hand-cut flower with punched leaves. Also used a stencil from Wal-mart and some Folk-Art paints for background. Scripture inspiration: Luke 12:27: "Mark well how the lilies grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, Not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these."
